Final installment plan payment for registration fees due August 31, 2020

Some CSHBC registrants have not yet paid the final installment plan payment towards their registration fees for the 2020/2021 registration year. These registrants must make the final installment plan payment before the deadline of midnight on August 31, 2020.

The amount due is $375 for all Full (formerly called “Active”) registrants and $137.50 for Non-practising (formerly called “Inactive”) registrants. The amount is 50% of the annual registration renewal fee.

To make the final installment plan payment, log in to the Registrant Portal, view “Outstanding Fees” in the Registrant Dashboard, and then review and pay the invoice for outstanding fees. In case registrants encounter any problems making the final installment plan payment in the Registrant Portal, CSHBC recommends making the payment well in advance of the deadline.

Registrants who do not pay the final installment by midnight on August 31, 2020 will have their registration cancelled as of September 1, 2020 and will no longer be authorized to practise or use a restricted title. There is no grace period or reinstatement period after the installment deadline. There will be no exceptions or extensions to the deadline.

If registration is cancelled, former registrants must cease practice immediately, and must also cease using reserved title immediately. Before resuming practice and use of a reserved title, they will need to re-apply for registration, and their application will require Registration Committee approval. The Registration Committee’s review of applications will be based on current registration requirements. Please note, this could present significant issues for those who registered under previous iterations of the college Bylaws with less stringent registration requirements.

Practising and using a reserved title without a current license to practice, even for one day or one hour, is unlawful and is taken very seriously by the College. See information about unlawful practice and unlawful use of a reserved title.

Registrants who are unsure whether they have already made the final payment, or who have questions about making the payment in the Registrant Portal or any other questions, should contact CSHBC well in advance of the August 31 deadline.

On March 18, 2020, in response to the COVID-19 crisis, the CSHBC Registration Committee passed a one-time emergency resolution that enabled CSHBC registrants to pay registration renewal fees for 2020/2021 under an installment plan. The deadline for the first installment was June 30, 2020, and the deadline for the final installment is midnight on August 31, 2020. It is registrants’ professional responsibility to ensure they make the final payment by the deadline.
