On August 12, 2021, the Provincial Health Office announced that, to address recent breakthrough COVID-19 cases in long-term care facilities, it is mandatory for all health care workers in care homes and assisted living facilities to be fully vaccinated by October 12, 2021. Until that time, all unvaccinated staff must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and be tested regularly for COVID-19. This will affect CSHBC registrants working or volunteering in such facilities.
