Registered Audiologists (RAUDs), Registered Hearing Instrument Practitioners (RHIPs), and Registered Speech-Language Pathologists (RSLPs) are reminded that the end of the current Quality Assurance & Professional Practice Program Cycle, and the deadline to report practice hours and Continuing Competency Credits (CCCs), is midnight on December 31, 2021. Failure to report practice hours and CCCs by the deadline will result in registrants being blocked from renewing their registration until they provide a deficiency plan.
Registrants are strongly encouraged to report their practice hours and CCCs before December 23, 2021, in case problems or questions arise as the CSHBC office will be closed during the holiday period. If Registrants have any questions or require staff support, requests can be submitted by email correspondence to [email protected] before midday on December 23, 2021.
Documenting and reporting Practice Hours & CCC requirements
All Registrants must report their practice hours and CCCsin the Registrant Portal. All registrants are asked to log into their Registrant Portal account for reporting.
Troubleshooting Registrant Portal issues
If Registrants encounter technical problems with the Registrant Portal, it’s likely these difficulties are caused by the web browser in use.
It’s recommended trying these troubleshooting tips:
- Clearing web browser cache – the typical keyboard shortcut for clearing most web browsers is holding CTRL -SHIFT-DELETE keys simultaneously while in the portal webpage
- Alternatively, trying a different web browser may resolve the issue
If, during the CSHBC office closure, after trying these solutions, registrants still cannot log into the Registrant Portal and report their practice hours and CCCs, they are asked to take a screenshot demonstrating the technical difficulties they are experiencing.
Registrants must then send this screenshot, along with their practice hours and CCCs they wish to report (including full details of these: the category, number, which professional registration they apply to if registrants hold multiple, and which certified practice certificate CCCs they apply to, if relevant) by email to [email protected] in advance of the midnight December 31, 2021 reporting deadline.
Failure to meet the Practice Hours & CCC requirements
CSHBC will contact Registrants deficient in practice hours and/or CCC requirements following the December 31, 2021 deadline.
Registrants with CCC and/or practice hours deficiencies may submit a practice hours or CCC deficiency plan to the CSHBC before February 15, 2022. Any deficiency plans received after this date will be subject to a deficiency plan fee of $200.
See Attaining & Maintaining Practice Competence (PDF) for more information about deficiency plans and the consequences of not submitting one.
