2022 CSHBC Board Election results confirmed

Voting for the 2022 College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia Board election will not be required and official results have been confirmed. Four candidates were either elected or re-elected by acclamation to the CSHBC Board under section 5 of the College Bylaws.

For the audiology profession:

  • Fred Matta, RAUD, RHIP
     Elected by acclamation

For the hearing instrument dispensing profession:

  • Jon Waterhouse, RHIP, Vice-Chair
     Re-elected by acclamation

For the speech-language pathology profession:

  • Karen Derry, RSLP
     Re-elected by acclamation
  • Jamie Hack, RSLP
     Re-elected by acclamation

Pursuant to section 6 of the Bylaws, the term of office for the four successful candidates is three years, from October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2025.

Fred Matta, RAUD, RHIP, fills the vacancy created by the departure of Charles Fontaine, RAUD, RHIP, who was first elected to the Board in 2016.

The College has benefited tremendously from Charles’s professionalism, integrity, and commitment to CSHBC’s public protection mandate. In addition to serving as Chair of the Governance Advisory Committee, Charles participated as a member of both the Inquiry Committee and Finance & Audit Committee during his tenure. Charles has always been, and remains, a credit to the public, his profession, and the College. He will be greatly missed by both his colleagues on the Board as well as the entire staff of CSHBC. We wish Charles the very best in all his future endeavours.
