On July 13, 2021, Ms. Carla Willock, RSLP, entered into an Undertaking and Consent Agreement, pursuant to ss. 33(6)(c) and 36(1) of the Health Professions Act (HPA). The College’s Inquiry Committee investigated a complaint relating to Ms. Willock’s conduct, regarding concerns that she failed to maintain confidentiality consistent with the expected standard of practice.
Background
Ms. Willock is a College registrant and speech language pathologist. In July 2020, the College received a public complaint involving disclosure of personal information to another healthcare professional without the client’s consent.
Resolution
The Inquiry Committee resolved to dispose of the matter pursuant to ss. 33(6)(c) and 36(1) of the HPA by requiring that Ms. Willock undertake or consent to complete two practice consultations with a mentor approved by the College, and a reflective essay to be submitted to the College’s Inquiry Committee by December 31, 2021. Ms. Willock also agreed to a reprimand.
The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that this resolution is consistent with the College’s mandate to serve and protect the public.
