Ms. Nagwa Yacoub is a former registrant of the College in the profession of speech-language pathology. Ms. Yacoub did not renew her registration by its expiry date of March 31, 2021 and therefore her registration was canceled effective April 1, 2021.
Subsequently, it came to the College’s attention that Ms. Yacoub was engaging in unlawful use of a reserved title on social media – specifically, she was presenting herself as a speech-language pathologist on Meta/Facebook and on multiple LinkedIn accounts. The College delivered a cease and desist demand to Ms. Yacoub on February 3, 2023. Ms. Yacoub has complied with this demand, with the exception of her use of a reserved title on one LinkedIn profile, which she reports she is unable to access or delete.
Given the above situation, Ms. Yacoub has consented to the publication of this notice to advise and confirm to the public that she is not a current registrant of the College and is therefore not permitted to practise speech-language pathology in British Columbia.
