On December 5, 2022, Ms. Penelope Bacsfalvi, RSLP, entered into an Undertaking and Consent Agreement, pursuant to ss. 33(6)(c) and 36(1) of the Health Professions Act (HPA). The College’s Inquiry Committee (the “Committee”) investigated concerns relating to Ms. Bacsfalvi’s conduct, regarding her delegation of services to communication health assistants (“CHAs”).
Background
Ms. Bacsfalvi is a registrant and speech-language pathologist. In February 2020, the Committee proceeded on its own motion to investigate the process by which Ms. Bacsfalvi delegated services to CHAs.
Resolution
The Committee resolved to dispose of the matter pursuant to ss. 33(6)(c) and 36(1) of the HPA by requiring that Ms. Bacsfalvi undertake or consent to the following:
- complete the Client Consent, and Documentation & Records Management online learning courses;
- complete up to two practice consultations with a mentor approved by the College; and
- following the completion of the above noted conditions, undergo a period of supervision, with a supervisor approved by the Committee, and a supervisor’s report to be submitted to the Committee.
The Committee is satisfied that this resolution is consistent with the College’s mandate to serve and protect the public.
