CSHBC celebrates international Allied Health Professionals Day on October 14, 2023

October 14, 2023, will be Allied Health Professionals Day, celebrated internationally to recognize the significant contributions of the allied health workforce around the world.

In BC, the allied health workforce consists of approximately 75,000 individuals in more than 70 disciplines, including Registered Audiologists (RAUDs), Registered Hearing Instrument Practitioners (RHIPs), Registered Speech-Language Pathologists (RSLPs), and other allied health professionals. Allied health professionals provide a range of preventative, diagnostic, technical, and therapeutic health services across the lifespan and care continuum. CSHBC joins with partners in the BC health care system and the general public in recognizing allied health professionals and celebrating international Allied Health Professionals Day.

Lorrie Cramb, Provincial Chief Allied Health Officer with the BC Ministry of Heath, sent a letter that acknowledges and celebrates the allied health workforce and Allied Health Professionals Day. Read the letter from the Provincial Chief Allied Health Officer (PDF).
