Entry-to-Practice Examinations

Applicants to become Registered Audiologists (RAUDs), Registered Hearing Instrument Practitioners (RHIPs), or Registered Speech-Language Pathologists (RSLPs) in BC must meet entry-to-practice requirements before being granted Full registration. Among the requirements is passing entry-to-practice examinations.

As specified in Section 68 of the CSHBC Bylaws, all required entry-to-practice examinations must be approved by the College’s Registration Committee. Exams approved by the Committee and available for applicants to take include the following:

Profession Approved Examinations
Audiology
Praxis Exam in Audiology or CETP Exam in Audiology
Hearing Instrument Dispensing
ILE Written Exam and CSHBC HID Practical Exam
Speech-Language Pathology
Praxis Exam in Speech-Language Pathology or CETP Exam in Speech-Language Pathology

All applicants for registration with CSHBC who are Canadian-educated or International-educated must take entry-to-practice exams, except for:

  • Labour mobility applicants
  • Applicants for Temporary and Temporary (Teaching) registration
  • Non-practising registrants applying for Full registration
